I have Foreflight on my ipad and I find that if you center your map on an area of a sectional where there is a terminal area chart you'll see theTAC chart area outlined in white. Then if you widen the chart toward greater detail it suddenly morphs into a terminal chart. Try this with LAX. It displays as a sectional and then at a certain detail level it jumps into TAC mode. Unfortunately it doesn't yet have any way of displaying the back of the chart which has much useful VFR routing information.
